I will confess that David Letterman, he of TV’s late-night, oft-times thoughtless joke crowd has evoked a chuckle or two from me in the past. I’m not a regular watcher of his show, for a variety of reasons, but he is a comedian by trade, and those who carve out a pretty good living at making the masses laugh can and do probably make even the most staid among us grin once in a while.
You’ve undoubtedly heard about Uncle Dave’s most recent pummeling of Sarah Palin, ostensibly in the name of humor, wherein he essentially referred to her as a slut and joked about her 14-year-old daughter getting “knocked up” by Yankee baseball player Alex Rodriguez. Now, this might get me in a little hot water with some of my good friends and associates at Christian Money.com, but the part of this “bit” to which I object really isn’t what Letterman said. It was crude, to be sure, but this is late-night comedy in 2009 America; this stuff is usually in poor taste, and it’s precisely what you hear when you’re surfing the channels around midnight; spare me the fits of apoplexy, turn off the TV, and leave the wee hours for the animals.
No, the part of this that stirs me up is the liberal Hollywood hypocrisy. I thought all of these empathetic, civil rights-minded entertainers were sensitive to women’s issues. I guess they are…as long as the women are leftists with destructive agendas. Where were Dave’s vicious jokes when video surfaced showing Ashley Biden, daughter of VP Joe Biden, snorting lines of cocaine? Certainly he could tell some pretty vile jokes about President Obama’s daughters, could he not?
Of course he could. But he won’t. And that’s the real obscenity here.

The hypocrisy of the left is so evident today it is laughable if not sad. There are more examples of this today than ever before and increasingly so each day. Example after example yield no more attention from well-intentioned if not misguided souls of the liberal-progressive wing of our culture than did the efforts of Noah before the flood. And it should be no surprise to those of us who live by scripture. We've been told by our Lord and his prophets from the beginning what the end will be:
The godly person has perished from the land, and there is no upright person among men. All of them lie in wait for bloodshed. Each of them hunts the other with a net. Concerning evil, both hands do it well. The prince asks, also the judge, for a bribe, and a great man speaks the desire of his soul. So they weave it together. The best of them is like a briar, the most upright like a thorn hedge. The day when you post your watchmen, your punishment will come. Then their confusion will occur. Do not trust in a neighbor. Do not have confidence in a friend. From her who lies in your bosom. Guard your lips. For son treats father contemptuously, Daughter rises up against her mother, Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own household. Micah 7:2-6 (NASB). And….
“Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division; for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law." Luke 12:51-53 (NASB).
And I believe the deluding influence which Paul describes in 2 Thessalonians 2 has already begun. So the progressive left will continue unabated in their efforts of deception; and the power lusters of their leadership are only too happy to indulge them.

Apparently, there's just nothing at all funny about Obama, his family, or anything connected to the President: the comic writers of the U.S. have hit a massive dry spell since the presidential election, so it's back to the same stuff: Sarah Palin and her purported stupidity (remember, the only genuine women are Democrat women), Sarah Palin's slutty daughter (it's okay to call the older daughter slutty because she got herself knocked up and didn't have the decency to abort the kid like a genuine woman would), tea parties protesting higher taxes (tea-bagging is SO FUNNY), and BushCheneyMcHitlerBurton.
Making jokes about Obama; his mean, pinch-faced wife; or his children is racist, and should be prosecuted as a hate crime. In fact, I'm turning you in right now, Bob! Unless you give me some good stock tips.
